First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests a procedure called FETO for unborn babies with a severe diaphragmatic hernia, where organs move into the chest and crowd the lungs. Doctors place a tiny balloon in the baby's windpipe to help the lungs grow, then remove it before birth. The trial involves 10 pregnant women and focuses on whether the balloon can be safely placed and removed.
