Groundbreaking fetal surgery aims to save babies with severe birth defect
NCT ID NCT07166172
Summary
This study is testing a fetal surgery procedure called FETO for babies with severe congenital diaphragmatic hernia, a life-threatening condition where organs push into the chest and prevent lung development. Researchers will compare survival and long-term health outcomes between babies who receive the fetal surgery and those who receive standard care. The study aims to determine if this early intervention improves survival and reduces complications for these critically ill infants.
