First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving pregnant mothers extra oxygen can increase oxygen levels in the brains of fetuses with congenital heart disease. Researchers used MRI and ultrasound to measure changes in 53 fetuses with different types of heart defects. The goal was to see if this approach could one day be used as a treatment to improve brain development before birth.
