Poop pills tested to fight Liver-Related brain fog
NCT ID NCT07454408
Summary
This study is testing whether transplanting gut bacteria from healthy donors can help prevent recurring episodes of confusion and brain fog (hepatic encephalopathy) in liver patients after a specific surgery called TIPS. The treatment is for people whose brain fog keeps coming back despite taking standard medications. Researchers will compare the effects of the real fecal transplant against a placebo in 40 patients to see if it's safe and effective.
