First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether a fecal transplant from a carefully selected donor can reduce symptoms in people with moderate to severe irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) who have diarrhea. The donor stool has low levels of certain proteins and contains a specific bacteria. The main goal is to see if this treatment lowers IBS symptom scores by at least 50 points over 12 weeks. About 43 adults with IBS will participate.
