NCT ID NCT05776914
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) from a carefully selected donor can reduce symptoms in people with moderate-to-severe irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with diarrhea. The donor stool has low levels of certain protein-digesting enzymes and contains a specific bacteria. About 43 participants will receive the transplant via colonoscopy and be followed for 12 weeks to see if their IBS symptom scores drop by at least 50 points.
