New ultrasound test could reveal hidden muscle fat and predict recovery in seniors
NCT ID NCT07411547
First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a new, painless ultrasound method can measure fat inside the muscles of older adults (75+) who are in a rehabilitation program after a hospital stay. The goal is to see if having more fat in the muscles makes it harder to regain physical strength and mobility six months later. The results could help doctors better understand muscle health and design more effective recovery plans.
