Summary

This study tests whether transferring a woman's own fat to her face can improve skin quality and reduce signs of aging like wrinkles, sagging, and uneven texture. Healthy women over 30 who choose to have the procedure will be followed for six months with skin measurements and self-assessments. The goal is to see how well lipofilling works and whether certain biological markers in the fat predict better results.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
autologous fat transfer (lipofilling)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural, minimally invasive way to rejuvenate aging facial skin using a person's own fat.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early study with only 15 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply widely. The procedure also carries typical surgical risks like swelling, bruising, or uneven results.

Who can take part

This study's own entry requirements. Only the study team can say for certain whether you qualify.

Who is studied

The study population consists of individuals seeking aesthetic facial rejuvenation at the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL) in Lyon, France. Participants are recruited directly from the standard clinical practice of the principal investigator. A defining characteristic of this cohort is that all individuals have independently elected, and are already scheduled, to undergo an autologous facial fat transfer (lipofilling) procedure for anti-aging purposes prior to and independent of study enrollment. The study observes the outcomes of this pre-planned surgical intervention, with subsequent clinical and instrumental follow-up evaluations.
