Hip fracture showdown: which surgery helps seniors recover faster?

Summary
This study compares two common surgeries—joint replacement (arthroplasty) versus using screws/pins (internal fixation)—for treating a certain type of hip fracture in people aged 60 and older. The goal is to see which approach helps patients live longer, walk better, and spend fewer days in the hospital or care facilities. About 600 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries and followed for up to a year.
