Summary
This study looks at 600 adults aged 60 and older with a certain type of hip fracture. It compares two surgeries: replacing the hip joint (arthroplasty) versus fixing the bone with screws (internal fixation). The goal is to see which approach helps people live longer, walk better, and spend less time in hospitals or nursing homes within the first year after surgery.
