New fast MRI could make brain tumor scans easier for kids
NCT ID NCT05776602
First seen Jun 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested a new, fast MRI scan called Neuromix in 32 children with suspected or confirmed brain tumors. The goal was to see if the fast scan works as well as the standard, longer MRI. If successful, it could mean less time in the scanner and less need for sedation for young patients.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Fast MRI (Neuromix)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could make MRI scans faster and easier for children with brain tumors, reducing the need for sedation.
What could go wrong
This was a small study (32 children) and only looked at how well the fast MRI matches standard MRI. It does not prove the fast MRI can replace standard scans in all cases.
