Family history of heart disease linked to hidden dangerous plaque?
NCT ID NCT07172308
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at 480 adults with no prior heart disease who had a CT scan of their heart arteries. Researchers compared those with a family history of coronary artery disease to those without, to see if they had more high-risk plaque that could lead to a heart attack. The goal is to learn if family history alone justifies using CT scans for early prevention.
