Family doctors train to spot heart disease with ultrasound
NCT ID NCT07339007
First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether family doctors can be trained to use focused heart ultrasound (FoCUS) to detect common heart conditions like heart failure, valve disease, and atrial fibrillation. About 500 patients will have their hearts checked by both a trained family doctor and a cardiologist, and the results will be compared. The goal is to see if this training helps family doctors make faster and more accurate diagnoses in primary care.
