New eye scan technique tested for better wet AMD monitoring
NCT ID NCT02868086
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at 68 adults with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) to see if a newer type of eye scan (OCT angiography) changes how doctors decide when to give injections, compared to the standard scan (OCT B-scan). The goal was to see if the newer scan helps keep vision stable or improve it. The study did not test a new treatment, but rather compared two ways of monitoring the disease.
