First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested a non-invasive therapy called Enhanced External Counter-Pulsation (EECP) in 130 people who had a recent stroke or mini-stroke due to severe narrowing of a major brain artery. The therapy uses inflatable cuffs on the legs to boost blood flow, aiming to improve the brain's ability to compensate for reduced blood supply. The goal was to see if EECP could lower the risk of another stroke and improve thinking skills.
