First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether Enhanced External Counter-Pulsation (EECP) therapy, a treatment that uses inflatable cuffs on the legs to boost blood flow, could help people with severe narrowing of brain arteries. The goal was to see if it improves the brain's ability to adjust blood flow and lowers the risk of another stroke. The study involved 130 adults who had recently had a stroke or mini-stroke due to severe artery narrowing.
