Arm squeeze trick may protect older Women's hearts during exercise
NCT ID NCT07497659
Summary
This study tested whether a simple technique called ischemic preconditioning—briefly squeezing the arms to temporarily reduce blood flow—could lower heart strain after weight training in women over 60. Thirty physically active older women performed weight exercises after either the real arm-squeeze technique or a fake version, and researchers measured their blood pressure and heart rate. The goal was to see if this method could make exercise safer by reducing the cardiovascular stress that can occur during recovery.
