Simple home workouts and protein shakes tested to stop senior falls
NCT ID NCT03417531
Summary
This study tested whether a simple home exercise program and protein supplements, either alone or combined, could help prevent falls in older adults at risk of muscle loss and frailty. Researchers enrolled 801 seniors who showed early signs of weakness or had recently experienced a fall. Participants were randomly assigned to follow an exercise routine, take protein supplements, do both, or receive standard care for one year to see which approach best reduced fall risk.
