Walking vs. weights: which exercise best helps leg artery disease?
NCT ID NCT07248137
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at how different types of exercise (walking, traditional strength training, and circuit training) affect blood flow and other body signals in people with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD causes leg pain when walking due to narrowed arteries. Sixteen adults with PAD will try each exercise type in random order, and researchers will measure blood flow, oxygen levels, heart rate, and blood proteins. The goal is to find which exercise works best and what patients prefer.
