Pump iron, boost brain: creatine and training target menopause symptoms

NCT ID NCT07027800

First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This pilot study looked at whether high-intensity resistance training combined with creatine supplements can improve muscle quality, thinking skills, and menopause symptoms in perimenopausal women aged 38-60. Fifty-five healthy women were randomly assigned to take creatine, a placebo, or no supplement, with the first two groups also doing strength training. The goal was to see if this approach offers a safe, non-hormonal way to ease common menopause-related changes.
