Veterans' heart failure study tests simple knee exercise fix

NCT ID NCT05115890

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at why veterans with a common type of heart failure (HFpEF) have trouble exercising due to poor blood flow in their leg muscles. Researchers will compare 35 veterans with HFpEF to healthy volunteers, then have the veterans do 8 weeks of knee exercises to see if it helps. The goal is to understand the problem and find a simple, drug-free way to improve daily life.
