Lung blood tests may guide smarter treatment for pulmonary hypertension

NCT ID NCT01961232

First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding special blood tests (biomarkers) to the usual heart-lung exam can help doctors pick the right therapy for people with pulmonary hypertension. About 100 adults undergoing a routine heart catheterization will have extra blood samples taken from their lungs. The goal is to see if these markers lead to better treatment choices and improved outcomes.
