Ultrasound test may predict dangerous leak after pancreatic surgery

Summary

This study looks at whether a special ultrasound done before surgery can predict how firm the pancreas is and the risk of a pancreatic leak after surgery. One hundred adults scheduled for pancreatic surgery will get the ultrasound beforehand. The goal is to see if this test can help doctors plan better and reduce complications.
