NCT ID NCT05282277

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether estradiol (a form of estrogen) can improve symptoms of depression, psychosis, and loss of pleasure in perimenopausal women aged 44-55. Participants will receive either estradiol or a placebo and undergo brain scans to see how the treatment affects reward-related brain activity. The goal is to find a new way to ease these symptoms that start during the menopause transition.
