Summary
This study looked at whether giving a single dose of esketamine, a drug related to ketamine, could help reduce anxiety and depression in people having heart valve surgery. 142 adults took part, and researchers measured their mood before and after surgery using standard questionnaires. The goal was to see if this simple addition to standard care could ease emotional distress during a stressful medical procedure.
