First seen May 16, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether ertugliflozin, a diabetes drug, can reduce excess fluid in the skin and tissues of people with heart failure without lowering blood volume. 28 adults with heart failure and reduced pumping function took the drug or a placebo in a crossover design. The goal was to see if the drug relieves congestion more safely than current treatments.
