What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Methylergometrine and Carbetocin (drugs injected into the uterus to reduce bleeding)
What this could lead to
If this trial succeeds, it could show that one of these drugs is better at reducing blood loss during fibroid surgery, potentially leading to safer procedures and fewer blood transfusions.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to all women. The drugs may not differ significantly in effectiveness, and side effects are possible.
