Epilepsy combo drug trial shows promise for seizure freedom
NCT ID NCT01345058
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding a low dose of lacosamide to levetiracetam is more effective than increasing the dose of levetiracetam alone for adults with epilepsy who still had seizures on a low dose of levetiracetam. Fifty-six adults participated, and the main goal was to see how many could go six months without any seizures. The approach compares combination therapy to higher-dose monotherapy to find a better way to control seizures.
