New sitting position could make epidurals quicker and more comfortable
NCT ID NCT04754282
Summary
This study tested whether sitting cross-legged helps doctors place epidural pain relief catheters more successfully on the first try during labor. Researchers compared the cross-legged position to the traditional sitting position in 457 women. The goal was to see if this position reduces the number of needle adjustments needed and improves comfort for the patient.
