New pill takes on stubborn lung bug in landmark trial

Summary
This study tests an experimental pill called epetraborole for people with a chronic lung infection caused by Mycobacterium abscessus. About 84 adults with mild-to-moderate disease will receive either a low or high dose of the drug or a placebo for 84 days. Researchers will check if symptoms improve, if bacteria clear from sputum, and if quality of life gets better.
