New combo aims to boost rectal cancer treatment before surgery

Summary

This study tests adding an experimental drug called epacadostat to standard chemotherapy and radiation for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. The treatment is given before surgery to remove the tumor. The goal is to find the best dose and see if the combination improves outcomes. About 49 adults with stage 2 or 3 rectal cancer are being recruited.
