New combo therapy aims to boost rectal cancer treatment before surgery

Summary

This study tests whether adding the drug epacadostat to standard chemotherapy and radiation before surgery can improve outcomes for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. About 49 adults with stage 2 or 3 rectal cancer will take part. The goal is to find the best dose and see if the combination helps shrink tumors more effectively.
