New pill aims to tame painful lupus skin flares in major trial

NCT ID NCT07332481

Summary

This study is testing whether a new pill called enpatoran can safely reduce the severity of skin rashes caused by lupus. About 202 adults with active lupus skin symptoms, with or without other body-wide lupus disease, will take either the study pill or a placebo for 24 weeks while continuing their standard lupus care. Researchers will measure changes in skin redness, scaling, hair loss, and itch to see if the new treatment helps control the disease.
