New pill aims to tame painful lupus skin flares in major trial

Summary

This study aims to see if a new oral medication called enpatoran is effective and safe for treating active skin rashes caused by lupus. It will involve about 202 adults with cutaneous lupus, who may or may not also have systemic lupus. Participants will take either the study drug or a placebo pill for 24 weeks, in addition to their standard lupus care, to compare results.
