Shining a light on walking: new study tests red light therapy for PAD

NCT ID NCT06399900

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether shining a special red light on the legs each day before a walking workout can help people with peripheral artery disease (PAD) walk farther. PAD causes leg pain and difficulty walking due to poor blood flow. The trial involves 32 adults aged 50 and older with PAD who will use a light device at home and have their walking distance measured after 4 months.
