Summary
This study tested whether imagining positive future events can help people in early recovery from alcohol use disorder make better choices and feel more motivated to seek treatment. 58 adults who had been sober for 30 days to 1 year took part. Researchers compared high-intensity future-thinking cues to low-intensity ones to see which had a stronger effect on choosing delayed rewards and increasing treatment interest.
