First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether empagliflozin, a drug usually used for diabetes, helps the heart recover better after aortic valve replacement. 206 adults with severe aortic stenosis took either the drug or a placebo for 6 months after their valve procedure. The main goal was to see if the drug reduced heart muscle thickness and improved symptoms.
