Generic diabetes combo drug put to the test against Brand-Name synjardy
NCT ID NCT07266766
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study checked whether a new generic version of a combination diabetes pill (empagliflozin and metformin) releases the same amount of medicine into the body as the brand-name Synjardy XR. Forty healthy adults took a single dose of each pill under fed conditions, and researchers compared drug levels in their blood. The goal was to confirm the generic works just as well, which could offer a more affordable option for people with type 2 diabetes.
