First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study checked whether a generic version of the diabetes drug empagliflozin/metformin works the same as the brand-name Synjardy XR. Forty healthy adults took a single dose of each pill under fed conditions. The goal was to see if the generic matches the brand in how much drug gets into the blood. This helps ensure patients can get a lower-cost option that works just as well.
