Summary
This study tested whether a special communication device (EyeControl-Pro) could help reduce confusion and delirium in older adults in the intensive care unit who are on breathing machines. The device lets patients communicate using their eyes. The trial involved 160 patients aged 50 and older. Researchers compared those using the active device to those using a sham version to see if it lowered delirium rates and severity.
