First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a device called EyeControl-Pro, which lets patients communicate by moving their eyes, can lower the risk and severity of delirium (sudden confusion) in older adults in the intensive care unit who are on breathing machines. The trial involved 160 patients aged 50 and older. The goal was to see if this tool, added to standard care, helps keep patients more alert and connected.
