Can eye movements help break addiction? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT05488691
Summary
This study tested whether EMDR therapy, a treatment known for trauma, could help people with substance use disorders who also have a history of psychological trauma. Researchers worked with 64 participants who were not actively using drugs to see if EMDR could reduce their cravings, delay relapse, and change how their brain and stress systems function. The goal was to understand if treating underlying trauma could improve addiction recovery outcomes.
