First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether electroacupuncture (a modern type of acupuncture using mild electric pulses) can safely reduce pain and improve function in people with disc-related low back pain. About 240 adults aged 18–70 will be randomly assigned to receive either real electroacupuncture or a sham (fake) version over 4 weeks. Researchers will track pain levels, disability, and quality of life for up to 6 months after treatment.
