First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether electroacupuncture (a modern form of acupuncture using mild electric pulses) can safely reduce pain and improve function in people with disc-related low back pain. About 240 adults aged 18 to 70 will be randomly assigned to receive either real electroacupuncture or a sham (fake) version over 4 weeks. Researchers will track pain, disability, and quality of life for up to 6 months after treatment.
