Zapping belly to speed up bathroom time for spinal injury patients
NCT ID NCT06948175
Summary
This study is testing if a simple, at-home device can help people with long-term spinal cord injury manage difficult bowel problems. Researchers want to see if placing sticky pads that deliver gentle electrical pulses on the belly for 30 minutes before a bowel routine can shorten the time needed and improve stool consistency. The small trial will involve 12 participants using the device at home over several weeks to compare results with and without the stimulation.
