First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looked at 68 children aged 6-12 who had space maintainers (devices that hold space for permanent teeth). It compared electric and manual toothbrushes to see which better improved gum health and reduced harmful mouth bacteria over 3 months. The goal was to find the best way to keep kids' mouths healthy while they wear these devices.
