First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a real-time lung imaging tool called electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to guide breathing therapy can help adults who have been on a breathing machine for 21 days or more get off it faster. About 200 participants will either receive standard therapy or therapy guided by EIT images. The main goal is to see how many days they are alive and free from the ventilator within the first 28 days.
