Summary
This study tested whether automated alerts sent to doctors through electronic health records could improve care for patients with severe aortic stenosis or mitral regurgitation. Over 2,100 patients were included, and the alerts highlighted those who might need a heart valve procedure or a specialist visit. The goal was to see if these reminders reduce undertreatment and address differences in care based on race, sex, or location.
