Computer alerts may help close gaps in heart valve care

NCT ID NCT06099665

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether automated alerts sent to doctors through electronic health records could improve care for patients with severe aortic stenosis or mitral regurgitation. Over 2,100 patients were included, and the study compared outcomes between clinics that received alerts and those that did not. The goal was to see if alerts led to more patients getting needed heart valve procedures or specialist visits.
