First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This pilot study tests efgartigimod alfa, an experimental drug, against a placebo in 20 adults experiencing their first episode of optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve). The goal is to see if the drug, given alongside standard steroid treatment, is safe and helps vision return more quickly and completely. Participants will have vision tests, blood draws, and follow-up visits over 6 months.
